Those of you with 67's and 68's where is your muffler located? The reason I ask is that my current exhaust set up which was done by the PO has the mufflers right after the collector under the seats.

Why would you move the muffler that far up; as I am researching for a new exhaust system all the complete kits have the muffler right before the axle.

Are the fitment issues for that location if you have sub frame connectors(which I do).....Any pics of your exhaust's will also be very helpfull.

My exhausts are located just as the floor pans turn up to clear the rear axle. Pic later tonight

I don't run any.

That will be after some other stuff gets done. I wish I could run it open :SNSign: headers forever.

Just like geostang351 says... that's how I have mine.

Man... that is a nasty looking 8 inch rear! Guess I need to replace it with a nice clean new 9 inch... donations accepted!

MFP4073 - Do you have a kit or did you piece together that system?

I want to run a H-pipe also and the Flowmaster American Thunder kit is what I am looking at.

Mine is just like the two pics above but it dumps at the rear instead of going over.

piece from here, piece from there.

the over the axle and mufflers are flowmaster. Not sure who the h pipe or the dump/knockoffs were. Then the tips were from NPD. I then had a local "artist" fit it to the car and put it together. One of the best jobs I have ever farmed out to someone else.

Another Quick question slightly off topic, but if you can look under your car and see if you have access to all 4 bolts for your front seats.

The reason I ask is the way my exhaust system is set up right know iwith the mufflers forward they are in the way of the inside bolts on both seats. I am replacing the carpet but can't get to the bolts with out dropping the exhaust.

Tell me about it....So know I either have to wait until I redo my exhaust or take the damn thing down just to undo 4 bolts.

I would drop the exhaust from the back (four bolts only - Just time consuming), but can be done.

Well I was looking at it earlier and I have hangers just before the axle and then there are "non stock" hangers added after the muffler that the guy actually but a tack weld on the threads just after the nut. I guess he was really worried about it coming loose.

Oh man, You can't catch a break! Mine have hangers just before axle and towards the rear of hte gas tank. The ones by the axel are large sheet metal screws that protrude behind the rear seat and the ones neat the tips are nut/bolt with rubber washers to prevent vibration to the car from the exhaust.
