I gotta get a new muffler shop.... @Blane Wilkens I was thinking about doing a project such as yours. Is it pretty involved or not that bad a swap?

Super Turbo mufflers sound good without getting you arrested. "Drone" masters (Flowmasters) will never go back on my car or truck again.

I had a '96 F150 with a 5.0 running BBK shorties and a Bassani Y-pipe into a Flowmaster 40-series single-in/dual-out muffler into side exit tailpipes behind the rear wheels. I honestly don't recall any problems with drone; at least not on the order of what is usually experienced with 5.0 Mustangs running flows. I thought it sounded great. It was a single-cab short bed; the location of the muffler under the bed behind the cab made it relatively quiet inside in spite of how loud the truck actually was.

Being that you have a Mustang 5.0 under the hood, I would steer clear of flowmasters. The drone of flowmasters seems much more pronounced with the distinctive Mustang sound than when they're installed on other cars.

All that long-winded nonsense being said, my vote would also be for the Super Turbos. Those will be the next mufflers going on my car once I get back to the states and redo the exhaust.
