muffler switch

great news now definately gonna do it

it's an easy swap with the toughest part being getting to the factory muffler hangers. You can't get a socket on them and unlike most the aftermarket mufflers there's 3 factory hanger mounts with 2 bolts each. The factory muffler also has a weird weight hanging off the end that looks like it's a mount until you get it off and nothing happens. The hose clamp-like muffler clamp really needs to be torqued down tight or it will rattle. Raising the rear end up on jack stands makes the job much easier as does 1 additional jack stand to hold up the muffler while you tighten the mounts and clamp. The first time I installed my Pypes it was crooked and took an hour. After I removed it and adjusted it in it's correct place it was less than 30 minutes on and off.

thanks Ken just got one off ebay

Sweet, you'll love it. I have the Pypes Violator, it loud and proud over 3,000 rpm and drones like hell. But every time I jump in the car I feel like I'm 17. If I had wanted a meek, quiet car I would have bought a Taurus. I just got my lowering springs in, after this weekend we'll be 2" lower. A GT/Eleanor grill and 69 Mach 1/Boss type front spoiler and I'll be good to go. Til I buy my GT that is, then we begin again. But what a great car to start with. Other than a Saleen S7 or a GT40 I can't think of a more beautiful body style.
