Mufflers.....hmmmm

Don't expect a V8 sound by switching out the exhaust. I'd vote for a cheapie glasspac from your local muffler shop. My buddy has a glasspac on his I6. It makes a kind of low growly buzzing sound. Not like a ricer buzz though. But car people will know you have a 6 cylinder.

I got glasspacks... but I also put a dual outlet header on....

I've had nothing but compliments about the exhaust. They either think it's a V8 or think it sounds better than one.

I've heard the FM 40's on a 200 and it sounded really nice. You would have sworn it was a v8. This guy didn't even have a header, but it's a good idea...

My '65 with 200 l-6 had a Clifford dual-outlet header and a pair of Dynomax turbo mufflers for years - tailpipes out the back, of course. When you weren't in it hard, it sounded pretty good - mild V-8-ish. Wind it out and there's no doubt it's a six.

'course I eventually got bored with just sounding sorta like a 289, but accelerating like a Pinto and decided it was time to actually PUT the V-8 in.

Where did you get your dual outlet header??

I've been looking for a header for my I6 - where and what to buy?
