I AM GOING TO GET A NEW EXHAUST SYSTEM IN ABOUT 2 MONTHS BUT DONT KNOW WHAT SOUNDS GREAT. I WAS LOOKING AT FLOWMASTERS 40 SERIES AND SUPER 40 SERIES. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK SOUND BETTER/LOUDER? (any other suggestions on what sound good)

-p.s. I have a 289 and im going to get long tube headers and add an H-PIPE. (just some xtra info):D

I am using the 50 series... and could not be happier. I wanted something a little more tame than the 40 series as I have a convertible and wanted to be able to hear my-self think.

Anyway... you can see my build in my signature is pretty similar to where you are heading with the exhaust.

Sounds freakin fantastic!

I have a Magnaflow part #15815 which is a 2.5" stainless kit with an x pipe. While it does hang pretty low it sounds more like the newer cars. I love its tone and there seems to be no drone which is important to me. Although they are expensive it may the last exhaust kit I have to buy for the car.

Mines got a 302 from a 92 mustang GT (carbed) with 1 5/8" flowtech long tube headers and a custom built 2 1/2" X-Pipe and Flowmaster 2 1/2" Super40's with durndown under the car. It sounds really aggressive and turns heads all the time. Very very very powerfull sounding. There's not much resinating inside the car either, but is pretty loud outside, but like i said very deep and powerfull sounding.
