2.0 turbo and 2.4 N/A found in 2011+ Sonata/Optima and 2014+ Santa Fe/Sorento. It's a BEAST power-wise, and sips fuel like a Geo Metro's 3-cylinder, but the rod bearings in them are junk, so they're known to lock up or throw a rod with ZERO warning. Hyundai recalled every engine for inspection with special equipment and replaced about 2/3 of them, and they're still replacing them (every Hyundai and Kia dealership tech I talk to says they have at least a 3-6 month backlog on engine replacements, and that the majority are Thetas).
That Rio has the 1.6 Gamma... badass little engine, 139horsepower (insert V8 Mustang II joke here), 40mpg highway all damned day, and only prone to burning a little oil now and again. If you get a misfire code, replace all four spark plugs and coils, don't wait on the others to fail, you'll kill the catalytic converter, it's real sensitive to good combustion. That's it. They're magnificent engines.
