I rented the ball joint press tool from AZ last time I did a ball joint. It's not too hard. Just normal suspension work.

If you can set the toe in afterwards, it is no big deal.

Rent a good ball joint press and get quality ball joints, went cheap the first time ended up doing again a couple of years later.

I would get Steeda, Max Motorsports ball joints. Check to see if yours have been already replaced as they are press fit and can only be replaced once.

I can do both sides of a Mustang in just over an hour. Not a terribly difficult job.

Thanks guys. I have been driving the 89 2.3 coupe a lot lately, and it seems the front end is kind of loose. Plan to do the ball joints and rack at once. Holding off on struts.

If you are gonna change the Rack too you might want to consider an 03-04 Cobra.
