Ok...I really need help installing the accelerator pedal.

The instructional video from American Muscle says to remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the accelerator cable from the the top end of the accelerator pedal assembly.

I CANNOT disconnect the accelerator cable from the top of the accelerator pedal assembly. They made it seem so simple in the video..."just pop it off". I've been at it for almost 2 hours. I know i'm a noobie but im trying my best. Does anyone have any ideas? Attached is the video link below. Thanks all!

did you take the 2 bolts off first or 2nd? The vid shows removing the cable first and then the nuts. With the pedal still attached, it makes it easier to pry the cable out.

I see what you are saying...

But even if i pry off the cable first, how would i reattach it afterwards because its held in place by a retainer. The retainer will be ruined/useless once i pry off the cable.

Any ideas?

How to Install Bullitt Pedals in a Mustang | eHow.com

^^check out these instructions above. They describe the same steps but are slightly more clear.

You will basically by forcing the pin out with a nail or similar object that you can apply force onto the pin with.

I hope this helps!

Let me know if you have any questions in the future!

Whatever you do when you get the pin off, do not lose it behind the carpeting, I lost mine back there and it was gone for good. Had to get a new one from Ford.
