Mustang GT or 350Z?

I drove the 350z, and frankly, was unimpressed.

I'm falling prey...

I've been considering the mustang for some time. A week ago I almost took the plunge. The reason I haven't acted on it is because of a certain dilemma I have. I'll do a thread on that shortly.

Either way, this thread has helped me. I wasn't really trying to compare the Stang to the Z. However, all the positives about the stang have been told here. For instance, I didn't know the car runs on 87 octane.

I already have a list of mods I know I will be buying as soon as I make the change.

Thanks. I'm probably one of a very few that own both.

The only thing I don't get is why people on various Mustang and Z forums keeping comparing them.
The only reason why anyone should choose between a Stang and a 350Z is whether they want more than one person to ride.
The 350Z is a 2-seater and the Mustang is a 4-seater, apples vs oranges.
By owning both, I can choose to go out with a HOT chic in my Z or I can go out in my Stang.
But, if I want to cruise around with some friends, then I'll take my Stang.

2. Power-I must give this to the Stang, it has same HP stock, but with little mods will stomp all over Z. Z is hard to get any more HP out of. I would only do bolt-ons.

3. Handling-This is the one that has me looking at the Z, even with some mods I do not think the Stang can compare, am I wrong?

4. Interior-I give this a draw, neither is like my Audi, I do not expect them to be. That said, the new Z interior is in my opinion equal to the stang. Maybe the 07 Stang will change my mind, I am still waiting to see.

5. Storage-This goes to the Stang, 2 sets of golf clubs no problem and although I have an Expedition at least I can fit the 2 kids in the Stang and still have a decent size trunk.

6. Reliability-Hard to give this to the Stang. My brothers have Nissan's with over 200K and still kicking. That said, the Z has had a lot more trouble than the Stang in the last couple years so I will give it a draw.

7. Exhaust Note-Although the Z's is nice for a 6 cylinder, can not beat the Stang.

Obviously, you all picked the Stang and will naturally like it better, I am just looking for open-minded opinions at this point. Test drives are not enough for me to get the real feel of a car.

First off, they are not questions, they are opinions, please re-read them. I only ask one question abou the handling. Second, if they were questions, why would asking them mean I need to buy the "Z." I may buy the Z, I may buy the Stang, I may not buy either. All I wanted was opinions of others, not stupid comments like yours.

I agree it either grabs you or not, it did and still does grab me, the reason I do not have one right now is because last year I did not have time to wait for one. I ended up buying a Audi A4 instead and wish I had not. I have been through many cars in the past 5 years or so, none of which grabbed me like the stand at this point. That being said, I thought I loved some of them and it did not take long for them to get boring and for me to look forward to my next ride. That is why I am asking if anyone has been in this situation. I would imagine it would be hard to get bored of a Stang because of all the mods that are out there. Anyway, thanks for all the responses, I still want to wait and see what the new interior looks like and some of the other options for '07.

I would also agree... The first time I saw the new mustangs online I said to myself, "I gotta have one!". Then I started reading the great reviews it got in various magazines and websites and I was like,"I REALLY gotta have one!". So I got one and been happy ever since!
