Mustang II Question

Hey guys that have installed Mustang II (reen buddy ole pal ).

I am seriously considering goign with Heidt's M2 setup. My question is what do you do with you Monte Carlo Bar and Export braces?

Are they no longer required because all the suspenstion compnents are now located down on the subframes?

Even if this is the case it seems that there would be a bit of rigitity lost up in the engine compartment. Whats the possibility of the hood not fitting good after some time?

If you're worried about it, just run some braces in the corners. However I don't think there's anything to worry about. The lower brace and re-inforcing of the frame is where the stress is...

I agree with Jay. The loads are now down in the frame rails, which have been massively reinforced, so there's nothing to cause the aprons to sag inwards.

can someone tell me what all is included with the Heidt's kit? I saw the options....are they to upgraded parts that are already included?

Is it a complete kit, ready to go in? if not, what else do I have to buy?

It's fairly complete, but most people opt for some upgrades. If you just go with the kit itself, you won't get motor mounts, patch panels for the aprons, or a sway bar. Most people go with the deluxe kit (tubular arms), the basic coilover upgrade, the sway bar kit, and upgrade to power rack. This comes out in the neighborhood of $2600. You'll also need a rear-sump oil pan.

you can buy it on ebay, free upgrade to a power rack (rebuilt) the manual is new. free shipping and free upgraded brakes. I got the sway bar for the hell of it but may not use it. Got the panels and motor mounts. I paid $2200 I think. Call Tims Hot Rods in Spokane, WA. He's pretty cool and has lots-o info. I also dont have the upgraded coil overs. I was told they MIGHT lower the car maybe 3/4" and If I wanted I could just cut a coil off and thats what I planned to do.
