I used my fabulous new Michelin floor jack to put the car up on jackstands yesterday and I have pulled off all the wheels. Today I am planning on cleaning the wheel wells, brake calipers, and the wheels. What else can I do as far as cleaning or preventitive maintenance while I have it up?

Already done recently: brake fluid, oil and filter, fuel filter, tranny fluid, diff fluid.

Pretty low on cash right now and I do not have an inch pound torque wrench, a magnetic base dial indicator, or sufficient skill to perform this mod.

In July I will be taking my Mustang to a little shop in the middle of the Illinois cornfields to have my friend who has all these things assist me in the 4.10 install :)

I forget actually...I didnt do it. I just saw the little write up on doing it when I was looking for header install guides. I think you just drill out the rivets that hold them on.

Maybe clean and paint the calipers. A lot of guys do that with them still on, just make sure you tape up the surrounding area.
I was going to suggest painting calipers. Kits from Advance Auto parts are ~$15

I didn't paint the calipers, sorry... My father in law has a 2004 Grand Prix GTP Comp G and he is always saying I should paint my calipers red like his so I can't possibly do that. Guys with know it all father in laws will know what I mean ;)

Anyway I cleaned the wheel wells, cleaned the calipers, and cleaned the wheels real good.

I just scrubbed the calipers with Mothers chrome polish using an old toothbrush and then blasted the massive amounts of residue off with foaming engine cleaner. Worked great!

I also cleaned the stock stainless exhaust tips really well.
