Hi has anyone ever used Mustang Magic in Deerpark NY? I'm thinking about getting a rebuilt T-5 from them. Anyone have any experiences with them, Please share. Thanks

I never had a problem with them but seems everyone else has. If your gona install the trans your self call Astro Performance Warehouse. They have free shipping.
What did they quote you for the tranny?

Why what happened with them?? They want $800.00 for a rebuilt tranny installed. Sounds like a good deal!

Its a long story, but basically I took my car in to them for a chip tune. Well it worked ok at first (didnt help power at all) then it got worse again. I took it back to them to be fixed when I got time and pathetically, they couldn't fix it. I then called the owner and told him I wasn't happy and was cursed at and spoken to VERY rudely. I finally fixed the car myself my REMOVING their worthless chip and resetting the eec. They fu cked me, but it was partially my own fault for thinking they could do good work. Oh well, lesson learned. Like I said stay AWAY

i have had a ton of work done from them. never had any problem with them or the work they have done.

Let's see: Mustang Magic has installed my engine, intake, gears, cam, radiator, a lot of the stuff in my signature, even figured out a few issues no one else could, and well, my car runs pretty good. Are they perfect? No. But is any shop for that matter? I've had no real problems with them over the years. Go get your tranny there, it's not a bad deal. Grn92LX, I understand that there may have been a problem with the dyno tune, but Mustangs are quirky sometimes. Mine can be nuts. Before you were cursed at, how was your own behavior?

I was there a couple of times when I had my 99 and 01 Gt's. I didnt get major stuff done but I had no problems.

I went there for a clutch and I guess I was satisfied. Never got anything else done there. One thing they always inflate their numbers on what they sell. They did have a wicked cobra though. They are a little pricey and there are better shops out there such as JBE and M2 racing on the island.

Dan, where is JBE? I've never heard of them.

My favorite shop on the island is my driveway Usually if you want it done right, you do it yourself!

JBE is John Boldaris (sp?). He's got a shop in Babylon or Deer Park I think. Does good work if you cna even get an appointment. Hes got a sick turbo bike too from what I know.

2nd Astro performance Rich is a great guy and help me out a lot. He was on the phone for a 1/2 hour with me tiring to figure out what my problem was with my clutch.http://www.astroperformance.com/

If your going to spend that much then I would just go for something a lot better like a tremec or g-force trans. That is money well spent. I have gone through a few of Mustang Magic rebuilt trans. They are nothing really special just a stock rebuilt transmission.

Lets say you blow that one also now that is 800 you just spent and now you have to spend another 800 so you at 1600. You can get a Tremec 3550 for less then that. Mike (Grn92LX) got himself a good 3550 for that price with bellhousing also. So there are deals out there. I love mine I have about 20/25 passes on it leaving at 6000 with no problems.
