HI everybody, my name is Eduardo and i enjoy Mustangs. I mainly joined this forums because someone is trying to scam me with a Mustang GT500 and an Eleanor, he suposedly lives in Germany and the cars are in Italy. HOw do i know it's a scam? he wants to let them go for 8,000 each.I just wanted to let you know and also I wanted people who know to check out the pictures he sent me and see if you can ID them for me.

who knows....but that scam (selling cheap cars from overseas somewhere) is old and laughable for most of us. After many years of learning "what seems too good to be true" really is true it seems like simple knowledge. Who knows where they came from...but there are cars out there that are similar that you could buy...just not for that price. Look out for a 67-68 coupe and have a great time with the hobbie! These cars are A LOT of fun!

I thought that collectors would know about this scam. That's probably one of the reasons i also did this, to make sure, because he almost fooled me. Until i began researching on the net. I googled it and not a lot of stuff came up, but i just wanted to make sure. Someday I will find an honest seller and I will finally be able to buy the car of my dreams, I guess till theni just have to be careful.

Definetly a scam. Happens all the time. Happens the same way with parts too. Buying and selling. They are always tryiung to scam. The UK and Germany with the parts or cars in Italy is the most common. Someone told me that when a MO or bank check is issued from the UK, there is no way that it can be traced back and you have no protection. Something about their laws.

no need to apologize.

this is an old & obvious scam. If he'd said 28K for a GT500 it would be a little more believable.....

Unless you absolutely must have a Shelby, why not consider a coupe and modify the hell out of it? Much cheaper, and you won't be destroying an icon...you could also get a fastback and turn it into a Shelby, but that's going to cost a lot of $$$$$$$$.

American cars in Europe are worth at least three times more than they´re in the US, $8000 bucks is what he probably had to pay in taxes alone just to import the cars into Europe. A decent eleanor body kits sells for around $4000, the wheels alone are $1500, paintjob $3000, I can go on and on. For him just to break even, I figure he had to sell the eleanor for around $30,000 if not more.
Scam written all over it.

Re

I find that to find out if its a scam you can do 2 things to make sure, you can copy the first one or two sentences of the description and past it onto a google search, 9 times out of 10 the real listing comes up.

If that doesn't work, email the guy back saying that you'd like to fly over and come look at it. When I usually do that the guy disappears and doesn't email me back. But if I were you I would do what theses guys said and get either a fastback or a coupe.

Hey those pictures are from a company based out of Fort Worth TX. They build GT500 and sell them to the public. I saw the same exact pictures before. I think they took them behind their building.

But I actually have a GT500 I bought from a guy in Portugal for just $8K. They must be very common in Europe. I bought it with the money I got from a guy in Africa who needed to use my bank account to transfer $35,000,000 from a dead guys bank account. This is after I had already made Millions by forwarding an email that Microsoft tracked and paid me a $1 for everyone it reached. Life has been very easy for me with all these great deals out there.

Best thing to do...take a little vacation, somewhere like central florida or califorina that are big car areas. Look at some cars while here and buy a good one. Then ship it back! There are also places that deal in mustangs and classic cars that you can deal with and know are respectable. There is one here in town (and I am sure more around the country). The local one is called orlando mustang. Pete (the owner) has been an intrigral part of of the car scene in orlando since like 1979 I think. orlandomustang.com
