Just FYI - Nissan 300Z's were available as both a 2 seater and a 2+2 with 4 seats.

But I think a 2 seater Mustang is against its muscle car heritage. And also, I think to make it look 'right' and to realize any real advantages, it would have to be modified to the point where it would almost be a whole separate car -- very expensive.

Ford has had many fresh and cool 2-seater concept cars that I would like to see instead of trying to morph the extremely well designed 05 Mustang into a 2-seater.

Yeah you got me on that one. The 280z was the same way (Should have remembered that one. My best friebd owned one for a while. Though if you think the mustang rear seats suck. Go ahead sit in the rear seat of a 280Z.

Wow..... that "shorter" Mustang as I said looks well, STUPID! :damnit: :bang: When i pictured it in my mind it looked better. However, that's what you get for a mental case such as me. :nice:

As I was sitting at a stop light today, a new Thunderbird drove by and an idea hit me... What would you guys think of a Mustang that was a two-seater? A car that would look like a Mustang, but would be well, "shorter"?

Have I just lost my mind and need to be put into a mental ward?
:stupid:

You have lost your mind:

CAR ..... Length .. Wheelbase
T-Bird ... 186.3" ... 107.2"
05 Stang 187.6" ... 107.1"

A shortened Mustang would look stupid, like a cartoon character.

For those who are arguing about chopping down cars, the 2 seat T-Bird is essentually a Lincoln LS with the top cut off and the rear seat chopped out.

A LIGHTER Mustang would be great. However, you won't drop much weight cutting out empty space. Shortening doesn't really gain the kind of weight reductions that you would need to make the 'stang perform that much better.

Two responses to your 2-seat mustang:
1) go back and take a look at the concept coupe-that was an incredible looking car

Don't forget that those two concepts where built upon the DEW platform (which is where that rumor started), and not the S197 platform.
