How can you reduce weight in a mustang...whats in a mustang other than like a spare tire or maybe a rear seat delete?

Rear seat delete, tubular K-member, lighter suspension components (control arms/A-arms), driveshaft. Going so far to build a motor with an aluminum block will save you like 70lbs as well.

More hp...or staying NA.

Jokes aside, sticking with 17" wheels instead of 18s or larger doesnt hurt as well.

not trying to be mean, but losing weight yourself is the #1 place to start.

Sorry to say there isnt any real single thing you can do to drop a massive amount of weight. You just have to do a bunch of things that add up. There are several hundred pounds to shed, but its expensive if you do it all. If you did go through it all though, you would have a car that could handle on ice.

I totally agree....! 3140 with driver (200lbs) 268 rwhp and mid 12's all day long...................Suspension components are the key and will also make your car lighter and handle better...

Didn't you see my riviting "lost 29lbs" thread?

http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=691642

Seriously though, my stock (H) midpipe was very heavy compared to the aftermarket Bassani X - not sure exactly, but it has to be in the range of 10+lbs. Also, as the others said, suspension and wheel components are where the weight matters probably the most is a great place to look to. Aftermarket (light-weight) LCAs and/or UCAs are a good start.

His old caliper's must have been dragging. Only way that makes sense to me.

No, not since last summer when I bought a Tahoe and open trailer. It's race only now.

Ahhh. I remember you were one of the few (if not the only) sub-10 sec daily driver. Without bumpers and wipers, I wondered. Your thing under your user ID still says "9 Second Daily Driver".
