My 2005 Shelby GT500

I like the Shelby styling, but it can't stand up to the BOSS:

The early '67 Shelbys had functional side scoops. They also had marker lights at the rear of the upper side scoops. But at the end of the year Shelby stopped making the scoops functional(The marker lights were nixt very early becase they were illegal).

Hey J666Z, I live in central fla, north of Orlando. Please tell me give me some details, what shop are you taking your car to?, what body parts are you adding and where are you getting the parts from? Cervini hasn't finished their Elenore kit yet so where are you gettiing your stuff from?

I have my 05 on order and I have to start looking around for a good body shop I can have body parts added and I want Shelby racing stripes added.

Lets see comparison of the rides......

Well actually the 67 rides pretty smooth......as long as you are going in a straight line that is.....

The problem with the 67 is that the 428 is just a lot of weight to have in the front of that car.....

which pretty much messes up handling and hard braking because the rear end always wants to come out on you.....

My 66 with the small block is a much more balanced car....

I have driven an 05 Mustang 5 speed, and I thought the ride and handling was incredible......

Yes my 67 was the height of 67 technology for Mustang...but thats just it....1967 technology....

You just can not compete with the advances made in the last 37 years.....

of course all of the negatives are part of the cars character which makes it fun....

If you want your 05 to feel like driving the 67, I suggest you take off the sway bars, add about 800 pounds of weight over the engine, take out half your brake fluid and keep an open container with some gas in it inside your car(got love dual quads)...lol

oh and disconnect your a/c too.....

(yeah I know Im poking fun at my car, but I still would not trade it for any car in the world- ever since I was a kid, it was the car I always wanted)

Lets see....some advantages to the 67 then

Of course you will need to do some modifications to your 05 to make 369 tq at the rear wheels at 3000 RPM....lol.....

peak numbers are
292 rwhp and 379 rwtq.....

the killer is AVERAGE hp and tq thought...

AVERAGE from 2500-6000RPM is
269rwhp and 320 tq at the rear wheels..

so just image having your power band available at any RPM..lol

and the sound out the exhaust pipes...the lope of the cam...

My daily driver is a 2000 GT....which somehow does not drive as nice as I once thought it did after driving a 05 GT.....

Anyways when I buy my 05, it will be black and it will have halibrands and it will have silver stripes on it, and I will move the fog lights to the center of the grill....

thank you for all of the compliments.....
