I mainly ordered this to have a cleaner install for my NOS 05115 kit. But since C&L has such a bad rap on this site, I figured that I'd give a quick review.

Install was a piece of cake. Swapped out my Moroso CAI in favor of the stock box with a panel K&N as well. Whole swap only took about 20 minutes, if that.

Results(after resetting the ECM):

Not eye opening, but noticeable. Throttle response is greatly improved. Intake and exhaust note's are more pronounced as well. Seems to spin the tires a little easier too. No surging or bucking. Runs flawless from idle to redline. :nice:

I also went with the C&L kit because of the nitrous kit, but for some reason my car ran like ass with the C&L meter. I spent more than an hour with the tech guy trying to figure it out, I gave up and just got rid of it(kept the elbow though). I know a lot of people running the C&L with great success, sadly I am not one of them.

Was that with the combo listed in your sig? What meter are you using now? Was that with the stock airbox?

No, stock heads/cam. I am now using a 70mm out of a 93 Cobra with great success contrary to popular belief. Yes I did have the stock air box in place without the air silencer. I did like the customer service at C&L, the tech guy waited on the phone while I changed/adjusted a number of things per his instructions all to no avail.

Is it possible that your C&L meter came with the wrong sample tube? That was the first thing I verified before installing mine.

That was the first thing we checked. I think that MAF was evil, it ran great on some of my friends cars, acted the same way it did in my car on others.

I am curious about this, as I have compared the MAF Transfers, and they are different. The computer can compensate for some of it, but not all of the difference.

Are you using the 93 Cobra MAS sensor?
(using the sn95 MAS will yield better results)
What computer are you using?

I know the meter is larger on the SN95's, but is there a difference between the sensor's on a Fox versus an SN95?

yes the sensors are different.
It is the different sensors on the MAF that allows the MAF Transfer (in the eec) to be the same between the sn95 70mm MAF and the 5.0 HO 55mm MAF.

Part number for the 5.0HO 55mm MAS is F1ZF.
Part number for the sn95 70mm MAS is F2FV
Part number for the 93 Cobra 70mm MAS is F1SF

How would an SN95 sensor fair in a C&L meter in a Fox?

Probably not well :D
But I have never compared them.

I had a 93 Cobra sensor in my C&L for a while and it didn't work that great.

It would be best to hit a j/y for the right sensor: F1ZF for a Fox computer. These sensors were also installed on T-birds, 3.8 Taurus, and maybe even some Escorts.

Any sensor that has F1ZF branded into it will work.

My local PAP gets 12.50 for them, but I think that is well below the average yard price, so it may be more?

Were you guys using the same sensor on all those cars, or just the meter?
No we tried different electronics and it made no difference.

I am using the 93 housing with my stock sensor. I tried the 93 Cobra electronics on my car and it ran no different, but I just kept my stock electronic just incase. I am using the A9P

Just to make sure I fully understand.

You have...
93 Cobra 70mm MAF housing
93 Cobra MAS (F1SF) - The stock F1ZF MAS did not change the behavior of the car.
A9P computer (NO chip or custom tune)
Stock Injectors (19lb)

I will try to do some research tomorrow on why this may be working for you.

Thanks for the info,
jason

Since I just happen to have a known good SN95 70mm MAF meter with sensor, I decided to try out the sensor in my C&L meter.

The results:

Idles fine and seems to run okay under normal driving. However it seems to go very rich under WOT. It's VERY hesitant to rev and the cat's start stinking right away.

Also, I have a new-in-box 55mm Fox meter coming from Ebay that I'll try out in the C&L meter as soon as it arrives. I'll report back with the results from that sensor just to see if there is any differences between my stock Fox sensor and the new one.

Yes I am using the 70mm MAF housing
I am using the stock MAS(E9ZF) on the 70mm Cobra housing. I can't find the Cobra MAS but it was the same part numbers as my friend's 93 Cobra MAS, his car is a real 93 cobra. My car ran fine with both MAS, I could not tell the difference between the two both at crusing speeds and at WOT.
Yes stock computer no chip/tune.
Yup, rebuilt stock injectors.
Thank you for your research, I never questioned why my set-up worked since I know a number of local mustang guys who have done the same thing.

My car made good power with the MAF set-up and these mods:
70mm MAF/True-flo tube,70mm TB/spacer, Typhoon intake,AFPR,255lph, mildly ported E7s,U/D pulleys,electric fan,MSD Digital 6,MSD wires,distributor and coil,A/C smog delete,BBKshorty headers,O/R x-pipe,flowmasters as I put down 251 rwhp 289 rwtq N/A on a hot/humid day. I am interested in what you find. Thanks again:nice:

Just thought I'd update this thread. I did get the new sensor and have run it. No change, runs great.

Here's the part numbers of the two Fox sensors that work great in my C&L.
