My 76mm C&L MAF and intake tube review

It wasn't until just now that this hit me, but I think those are actually the same MAS, just from different years.

In most Ford part and casting numbers the first 2 digits designate the year.
E9 = 1989
F1 = 1991

The next 2 digits would signify the application
'ZF' would be for a Fox A9* and 55mm MAF.
'VF' would be for a sn95 5.0HO and 70mm MAF.
'SF' would be for a Cobra (either 93 or 95).

Does this make sense to any one else?

But this would explain why you didn't see any difference between these 2 sensors.
And...
that should be the correct sensor for your C&L and computer (A9*).
If I suggested otherwise earlier, I apologize for any confusion. With two discussions going on I may have gotten mixed up :shrug: :bang: :shrug:

Put your car on a dyno with a wide-band O2. You should use a Mustang-type dyno. Even better is to data log with a real wide-band O2 and under real world conditions.

SOME people do get LUCKY with C&Ls. It's a cr*p shoot - pure and simple.

Get 10 Fox MAF sensors from the junk-yard. Get the POS C&L flow-tested with each sensor, THEN we'll talk!

Would mind elaborating on what design features make the C&L less than stellar?

I seemed to have pretty good luck with the C&L.
But I am not saying they are a perfect design.

Just wondering what the problem areas are?
