I've picked up an 87 GT for a winter project and have a few questions you all may be able to answer? I'm building a 418 stroker for it right now, and have picked up a c-9 block (69), Yates c-3 nascar heads with the matching intake- both ported to the max, Jesel 1.65 rockers, all forged eagle rotating, with custom Diamond dish pistons (36cc dish as for the heads are 40cc), I've also picked up a 1hr dyno solid roller Ernie Elliot cam which is something like 300\714 lift. Ok after all that here is a few questions, the intake is an air gap without a base and when I bought the heads and intake he gave me 4 metal valley pans to make sure one fits the block, does this flat piece of sheetmetal just sit there with some type of epoxy, there is no way of bolting it down? Here is another question, will my timing cover off my 87 302 work on the 69 351? Thanks for any help. Here is a pic of the car:

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

as long as you use a reverse rotation water pump with the cover(same as the 87 water pump) you will be fine. both pieces should bolt up just fine.

I may be wrong but doesn't nascar run a 9.2" deck hieght block instead of the regular 9.5"?
