Nothing new on the car just enjoying getting it out and driving it, happy with the spring and strut choice so far, some minor rubbing but I can deal with it, but driving has convinced me I need a gear change, I don't have a problem paying for work but I have a big problem leaving my stuff anywhere for anything.
I don't have a press so the bearings would have to be done for me, question is has anyone just changed the ring and pinion with any success ? I know it's kinda half-assed but car only sees a couple hundred miles a year.

I just did mine went from a 373 to a 308. With the t5 it's much more streetable. Wasn't too involved but did take alot of patience.

I reused the shims from the old set to get the depth right, they still looked to be in good shape. The crush sleeve required a big air gun and breaker bar to set.

I didn't do the carrier bearings when I first swapped to the 4.10s years ago, and it was fine. you will need some way to press on one pinion bearing (piece of pipe and a hammer can work). I used the same size pinion shim as well with my frpp gears with other manufacturers you may want to check pinion depth (there are tool sets out there now to do it that are somewhat inexpensive). the biggest pita tool you'll need is an in-lb torque wrench for pinion pre-load, beam or dial type work best, and some way to hold the pinion still while you tighten the nut.

When I do mustang rears I remove the whole rear and set it on jack stands over a 5 gallon bucket that's been sawed to about half its height.

The pinion flange nut is easier to get off with an impact gun. Once the flange is removed you can rotate the rear down into the bucket.

With FRPP gears I have gotten lucky and been able to use the same shims. Almost any shop will press the bearing off of the pinion gear pretty cheap or free if you don't gave a press.

Its a good time to rebuild the limited slip assembly while you have it out. The clutches wear over time. Nothing like throwing a good gear ratio in it....and then end up only spinning one wheel.

Actually that gives me an idea, if I go ahead and take the rear out I could bring it to a local shop to be done ? I won't leave the car anywhere but I don't have a problem leaving the rear anywhere, the plan is definitely to install FRPP gears so if I do attempt this myself hopefully the original shims will work for me.

Don't see why you couldn't. When I rebuilt my first Mustang we took it to a shop to get done. Just like you can take just your transmission down to get rebuilt. I feel the same about not leaving my car anywhere else but my garage.

I've had this Mach 1 chin spoiler sitting in the box for over 3 years, wasn't thrilled about making it fit or drilling a bunch of holes under the nose. Well due to boredom from being stuck in the house due to hurricane Henri, today is the day it gets installed. Better pics when it's completed.

Yes, motor runs great, I definitely need some gear in it, but other than that it runs very well.

Well it's installed, clips it came with ending up being useless, so I ended up using nuts and bolts, hopefully I never hit anything and rip the nose off. If the weather ever improves here I'll take a pic outside.

i am currently installing the same Trick flow top end kit on my 93 lx. This thread has been very helpful and i felt your pain with the vague TFS instructions. I’m at the point where i’m getting ready to install the accessories back on. I bagged and labeled the bolts but i did this months ago so my memory is failing me. There is an area on the bottom drivers side timing chain cover. Do you recall what bolts into it? The metal bracket looking thing in my picture along with the ground wire that comes off the fender by the battery? Does the power steering pump bolt into it along with the ground? Any help?

I believe it's just the two things on there, the bracket and the ground. Don't recall anything else
