what can you guys tell me about the casting #'s on my block?

Can't believe no one's answered your question by now............ Anyway, according to the book I have your block could either be a std or Hi-po block. Check the main caps to tell. The std ones taper down, the Hi-po's are the same thickness from top to bottom.

I believe the three digit date code is Oct 6th, 1965. The first digit is the year, the second and third is the month and day.
