Should I be worried? I went for a ride in it and it's a pretty quick car. I'm half embarrased to say it might give the old 5.0 a good run for it's money. What do you guys think?

I think it's about damned time you got a power adder or H/C/I. How long you been here anyway?

This past summer at IRP I seen plenty of them. Ranging in the 14's. For some reason every teenager around here has one.

This is on intense racing's website a seller of GTP, cobalt parts.

Rob's Cobalt has the INTENSE stage3 kit, Corsa Touring cat back exhaust system, and the INTENSE oversize tensioner pulley He dyno'd 270WHP and 236WTQ with just the stg3 kit and recently dyno'd 276 WHP and 258WTQ with the corsa and a 2.6" pulley. Rob recently accomplished his goal of being the first street Cobalt into the 12s with his best ET on 4/5/06 a 12.940@106 w/ 1.82 60'

Those mods consist of about $1200 worth of stuff most of that money was spent on the catback. Now i dunno if this is normal or not i don't know anything about the cobalt SS.

Sounds like I don't have too much to worry about. I might race him sometime soon, but I'd rather wait until it gets warmer out because I can't get any traction when it's this cold out.

I'd just like to shut him up because he thinks his car really is faster than mine.

I raped one from a light 2 times this past summer. I will say though that he hung pretty good once we got above 3rd gear, but my car runs out of breath in the higher RPMs since i've got stock '85 heads and cam. He had nothing off the line though.

If you race from a stop you may do ok but from a good roll id say youll be able to see the SS tails.

I dunno man....i always give credit where credit is due...i've fallen to a few Civic and i respect every one of them that i lose to....but that Cobalt was a slug. We ran to at least 80mph before we shut down and i only hit about 98-99mph in the quarter so unless you're talking 130+ i say he didn't stand a chance. Hell with 4.10 gears yeah i wouldn't stand a chance beyond about 115mph, but who gives a damn about roll racing anyways? Racing from a roll is retarded as hell. No sanctioned racing body has EVER ran a race from a roll, so even if he put 30 car lengths on me i wouldn't care since he couldn't hold a candle from a dig.

The last Civic i went down to was on the highway. I killed him up to about 100mph and then he just drove away. I caught up with him in town and asked if he wanted to hit it from a stop and he said flat not "no way man"

Dude c'mon... When you're talking about a race that ends after X amount of laps, ok fine. But in DRAG RACING there is no roll racing. Oh and by the way, you also only ever see a running start in races where there is qualification for poll position. When there's just two people racing at one time, poll position doesn't make much sense. There might be qualification in drag racing but that's a totally different world than Indy or NASCRAP.

Try 14s, very close to a stock 5.0.

Were either car totally stock? Just for the record i'm about certain that the one i raced was stock, so i'm not saying anything about modded Cobalts.
