my bullit intake exploded on the dyno today...

That looks all too familiar.:D And yes, it's loud. Nitrous backfires sound like a bomb going off!

What happened on mine was the digital TPS WOT device failed and hung the fuel and N20 noids open just long enough. I immediately "dumpstered" that digital TPS switch and just installed a conventional microswitch on the back of the throttle body. Not a single problem since.

Check all of your sensors like your MAF, IAT, TPS, IAC, etc. None of my sensors were damaged but you never know. Your nitrous backfire looks like it was a little stronger than mine. Also my explosion also took out the EGR gasket which made for a huge vacuum leak. Just go over all of your vaccuum lines and gaskets and make sure they are OK

Nitrous backfires rarely hurt anything but the intake and anything in it's path, so I would be surprised if you had any damage to the longblock. I'm sure it's fine.

were you running a RPM activated window switch?

If not..
Sounds to me like the tuner went to WOT trying to get it to start and when he did it activated the No2 and fuel noids and dumped it into the cylinders, then once it sparked it backfired thru the intake and hence is what you see.

Well a monthe in the shop and $2300 later it was back on the road. I went ahead and replaced my noids just in case. However, my wife made the mistake of telling me that I needed to think of a better way to make hp since she didn't want my kids in the car with nitrous.

So....right now its having twin 60s installed and will be done next week:nice: It sucks I just bought the nitrous parts but I guess whoever buys the kit will be happy. I also had my hood checked out by the guy who painted it and he told me it would be an easy fix and that he would also take care of the paint chips on the front end.

I recently removed the "ghetto" tint and went with black.

probably the best theory, alot of guys from the carb world still think theyre in a carb'd car that they need to pump the gas a bit along with the crank to fire the car up, in this situation, the nitrous system was still armed and a blip of wot and it now introduces nitrous to a motor that has no other fuel inside of it while the injectors are sparking away to ignite and start the motor.

good thing its only the manifold, trickflow just released one as well, though we have yet to have any numbers to compare it to a bullitt combo or the like. maybe someone can be the guinea pig for SN?
