Tonight after dark: Open the hood with the engine running and look for any signs of lightning around the wires and coil.

It's still missing. Recently, I did see the battery gauge go up and down sometimes.The portion you want to look at is here:
If it looks burned or worn away, replace it. Inside the cap, you are going to look at each of the 8 contacts that the rotor above, swipes past when the engine is running. They should look clean and flat with no gouges or galling. A little bit of discoloration means nothing.
When I step on the gas, I feel a bit of force when it's missing.Did you see any arching in the dark? How old are the spark plugs? If you've inspected them, do you see any cracks in the porcelain? How old are the plug wires? How are the wires going to the TFI on the distributor? Do you have a multimeter? Does it only do this when it's cold/warm? Did it start doing it shortly after filling the fuel tank?
