One of my classmates has a 2004 Corvette C5-R, I'm pretty sure its a stock C5-R. I had a run in with him tonight, and we did the usual speeding past eachother, engine rev, etc. I don't know much about corvettes, but I think the C5-R makes 404 hp? Will I be able to take him in a race with the mods in my sig? Will I need the 3.73s to take him?

I think it would be a pretty good run for you. I'm not sure what the C5-R is exactly. I think only the Z06 C5 vettes had the 400hp . If you can drive, you should be right on his a$$!

your classmate drives a full blown race car on the street?
as far as i know the C5-R makes a bit more than 404hp so i think you'd lose

C5-R? I thought those had 600HP and were track only???? C5 Z06 got 405HP and the C5 got 350HP for that year I believe.

BTW the C5-Z06 makes almost as much RWHP as you (350-360 usually) and weighs only 3150#s. In other words, if he can drive....you will loose.

Tell him he's a clown for putting that badging on. And those wheels, too, while you're at it. BTW how old is this "classmate?"

This is a c5-r

This is a C5 with a gay decal

could be 400 hourse though...which would mean it could run 12s easily.

what year is it? stock it has between 350hp. they typically run high 12's with a good driver. mid 13's to 14's with the average to horrible driver. i've seen a guy run consistent 14.6's. also, is it an auto or 6spd? if it's a 6spd, you should be able to edge him out if you get traction. if it's an auto, you should win as long as you don't spin badly. for reference, i ran a 12.6 in my GT with 380rwhp on 245mm wide street tires and a 3770lb race weight. good enough to beat the vast majority of stock LS1 Corvettes.

I agree with everyone else, its a C-5 with a silly badge. Its possible there is work on it but real Z06 models have a duct right before the rear wheelwell.

It looks like a C5 so you should be able to beat it. A stock C5 has something like 320 rwhp doesn't it?

um, how bout NO. stock LS1 Corvettes aren't that fast. good drivers will pull a 12.8-13.0 with them. a equal driver in blown GT with traction can beat that.
