My CC plates damaged my hood

I just noticed today after having my CC plates installed a month or more ago that after the install the shop did not check to ensure clearance and now I have two gouges out of the underside of my hood from the bolt that sticks up out of the CC plates.


It took a good chunk of fiberglass out of each side

I've seen Koni's do this, too. Break out the Dremel!

So I should have someone grind the tops of the long metal studs down so it more then clears?

That's the reason you use spacers which are generally included with the CC plates, so it doesnt hit the hood. Sounds like a poor install.

i had the same problem. i just used my cut off tool and cut down the studs just above the nuts. and i've had no problems since.

I had to use spacers on mine. I sure am glad I didn't try to shut the hood before I noticed. I would try to find some spacers to use before you go cutting. good luck

I think it had spacers. Needless to say I doubt the install shop will get my return buisness after all this. The other wonderful thing they did was they did not tighten my locking lug nuts down and I lost one so they had to buy me a new set.
