My oldest daughter Ashley just got here first new car today. She's still in high school and graduates in June.. I didn't even co sign. She has already established some credit on her own and has held down a job since she was 15.

I have never handed her anything and made her work for what she has, and now her hard work has paid off. She starts Fairmont state next fall and has a free tuition etc. because of her grades, and because she pursued programs she was eligible for.

I'm very proud to be a father of a daughter that so ambitious with great morals, and character.

Here it is, it's a 2008 Focus four door with a auto tranny, and 33mpg. Extra gold warranty, Lots of other options I'm sure.

Thanks guys, she really does me proud, but then again so don't all my children.

I also have a son who is freshman at WVU. He also has a free ride at school because of his grades Etc. But he's driving an old Buick that use to be my dd. But he pays for all expenses and maintenance.

My youngest is 14, and so far she seems to be following the same path.

Cool deal man, even though it uses the money you work hard for it does feel really good knowing you bought and paid for it yourself, without any help. I bought my Mustang myself right after my 18th birthday, made 1 payment on it and have no more to be made. I was and still am proud.

see that, my father never paid for anythin when i was growing up, i had no choice but to save and build credit. Now all my friends are drifting away from there parents, and they have no credit and no money, cause mommy and daddy arent payin for anythin anymore. Here on long island its discusting how these kids are just getting handed everything to them by there parents.

Good job dad

Thank you.

I'll giver her an E-pat on the back.

I see a lot of young people on here who ask about getting a Mustang because their parents are going to get it for them.

My first vehicle was an 84 Cutlass that needed an engine... After a reman was installed I drove it around junior year and sold it off. I then acquired a 69 Bronco that was in desparate need of a restoration, but it was cool... After some new steel floors welded in (it had flashing for floors: Yuk) it rode much better.
