My first kill

I don't know if you guys remember but a buddy of mine has a stock 5-speed 95 GT and whooped my arse about 2 months ago.(my car was melting plugs so that didn't help the situation) Well, he went to my house to "work on his car" but the real reason was to race me(pretty sneaky) Ok so, we take it out on the street and since my car has no take off, we raced from a roll from 30. We hammered it an I jumped up ahead about half a car and it was close but when he would shift, my car would gain more. We raced until the top of 3rd and I whooped him by 1 car. I guess it was ok since his is standard and mine is an aode. :owned:

Everyone races on the street so dont be knockin people for it. Youre just as guilty as the rest of us.

BTW. I got clipped by an AMG 55 benz last night. Had my by a car untill 115 when we let off.

Good kill.

Definite good kill
and there's nothing wrong with street racing as long as it's done in the right place.
school zones ladies and gentlemen do not qualify as safe street racing zones
... i hope not to repeat :D

why are you street racing???? you might as well be a ricer.

Muscle car guys invented street racing and hot rodding. It all started back in 32 when Ford came out with the first production flathead v8. 65 horse baby.

You can call a street race a lot of things, mainly stupid, but its definately not ricey to increase the performance of your car and want to compete with others of the same hobby, whether it be at the track or a long stretch of highway at 3am.

very true, street racing has been around long before ricers, anyone who thinks that street racing = ricers is teh stupid

Good kill :nice:

Is it street racing if your on an interstate  , an interstate is not considered a street :D

There was a time in the late 60s when a remote trucking terminal highway 13 miles long (Hall Street) with only one ~30°bend in it had had probably a couple thousand people spectating and up to 100 cars racing on the weekend nights. Even the Semi trucks would line up and race. Was it smart - no. Was it irresistable - yes. Police shift change was @ 11:00 PM and this was on the FAR North side of town, so we had about 2 hours of free-for-all. Grudge and money matches included some Super Stock and short fuel rail cars at it's peak. The beginning of the end when a convertible Thunderbird full of kids flipped and they got killed.

It's always better to do your racing at the track, but I'm guilty even today when the conditions are RIGHT and the annoying kid next to me revving the snot out of his Honda needs his @ss kicked. If conditions are not right, I just give them the "don't waste my time" look.

good kill

about the street racing. its not ricer. on the track is tons better. but i am guilty of street racing but only on roads i know and i feel comfortable on.

and not to hijack the thread, but i got one from last night. i was driving home from work and i'm comin up this hill when i look behind me and this new ricer cavy is on my ass like a hemroid. i was doin like 50 before i started up this long hill. i just let it slow itself down to like 25ish. he gets all pissed off and tries to pass me GOING UP THE HILL! what a dumbass. i downshift to 2nd and pull away like he was standing still. he stayed back pretty far then after that, even though i slowed down to like 30 just to piss him off. it was good times.

It depends on where you are doing 115. On an open 3 lane interstate with nobody out, I don't think thats irresponsible. If you are on a freeway with traffic on it, then yes, you are right. You can't just lay a blanket judgement on a situation, there are a lot of factors that play into it.
