I have decided on getting a cat-back system for my 04 Cobra and was going with magnaflow, that is, until i heard the Borla Stinger....WOW!!! I have found the Stinger system for $569 and the Magnaflow for approx. $400. Yes i realize this is a big difference in price. But was hoping to get some help/feedback from you guys.....
-Have heard the Stingers dont "drone" at all, but the magnaflows do, somewhat in the 1800-2200 rpm range?
-Which has the best fit/finish?
Any and all info/opinions/feedback is greatly appreciated
Thanks for your time

I say the Borla...They do sound wicked! I have heard of them dyno'ing at 34-37hp with an intake too. I was just about throw the cash for the Borla- I just could'nt pass the unbeleivable deal I got on my Bassani.

I'd go with Magnaflow. Great value & performance, can't beat the price IMHO. All mufflers/catbacks "drone" to a certain extent, some are just more noticable than others. I wouldn't worry about the "slight" Magnaflow (my opinion) drone in that 1800-2000 RPM range (typically at highway speed, if holding a constant MPH) . The Magnaflow "drone" is nothing like the harsh, resonanating drone that is typically associated with chambered mufflers (such as Flowmaster).
As you probably already know, the 03/04s are picking up large gains no matter what aftermarket catback is installed (the factory mufflers/catback are an obvious bottleneck in the exhaust plumbing) - you'll free up gobs of power no matter what aftermarket catback you choose.

The two are very close when compared in every aspect except sound. They are both made from stainless steel, they both have excellent fit & finish (I must admit the tips on the Stingers look better than the Magnaflows), and they are both within 2 or 3 HP/TQ of each other I'll bet. There are really only 2 deciding factors when it comes down to it, sound & price.

I have flowmaster 2chmbrs right now... I hate them, sound is too much like glass packs with an x-pipe without cats... WOT sounds awesome though, just letting off the gass at 2k RPMs or less sounds like popping glass packs... I am still tossing up magnaflow or borla CBs myself.... but leaning towards the borla stinger.... SVT chose that unit on the Cobra R - although that one is a side exit, I want the stinger kit for rear exit...
