my first mods to the mustang

I'm about to order my first mods too, only I'm going the looks path first. I'll be ordering the Mach 1 chin spoiler and grill delete probably this week. Hopefully by the fall I'll be able to start on the performance mods.

i have enough money to still buy gears and i have a guy that can install them but do i need the rebuild kit or gaskets?? or will i be okay with just the 4.10 gears? my car has 50,000 on the clock

Your upgrades are pretty much what I did first. Go for the gears next. And Yes a different shifter will make it more fun too. My car had mid 40k miles on it when I did the gears. My bearings were shot so I had those replaced too. Like someone else noted, the moneypit has only started for you. :)

:D im doing my first mods in the next two weeks i just put my order in today i got slp lm1's , diablo sport tuner, k&n cai and steeda udp. what will i see in gains around 20hp??

I doubt you will even feel the difference (seat of the pants). Rule of thumb is it takes a 10% increase in power to feel the difference. You might drop a couple tenths of the 1/4mi, but not much else. 20hp on top of the stock 260 is a start, though.

well 10% of 260 is 26% and im looking to maybe get 20hp to the tires the 260hp is at the flywheel so that pretty much is 10% right?:nice:

you'll feel 20hp, dont worry. Plus just the new exhaust sound gives you that SOTP false improvemnt:p
As for gears, i wouldnt worry about an install kit. I had 104k miles when i did mine and had the whole kit ready to go in untill we took out the bearings and saw they looked and worked like it was a week old. Ford drivetrains ftw
