well... IMO dual exhaust on a V6 is kinda.... not worth it.
personaly i would sell the car and buy a V8.

if not the option
Just get a cowl hood to look mean.... Lmao

if i were to have a V6. I'd probly spray the piss out of it!
so

Spray...
Lowered
Bigger wheels out back (deep dish)
keep stock bumper.
Debadge your car.
take your spoiler off if you have one.
change the front bumper.
Run Dumps.
Gears. 410s or 436s....
and that should be it.

Seriously.

But yeah, you're obviously not going to make gobs of hp with the V6. You've probably got one because your cash supply is limited.

That's cool though, as mine is too. Saving is key.

Anyways, using the search function will probably bring up alot of information but for starters, you can look into the dual exhaust like you said.

You're going to need this, I believe: http://www.americanmuscle.com/v6duexadkit1.html

So, once you have that, you can get any catback you want. If you're like me, you like loud and since your V6 is kinda naturally quiet, I'd suggest going with something liek SLP loudmouth.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/slpexhaust.html

So, most of this stuff is just going to make your car cooler but not exactly faster.

http://www.americanmuscle.com/muv6coairins.html Go with an intake to help with breathing.

And from there, just focus on what looks cool. Be it lowering or a new hood or rims.

Good luck!

K&N drop in filter , allows for plenty of air for a V6 , about 5 or so RWHP
Dual exhaust kit , exhaust wont net much power but will sound better
Underdrive pulleys, will get you about 5-10 RWHP
Performance tune, will get you another 10 plus RWHP
7.5 Trak-loc for the rearend, so you can spin both rear wheels LOL .....better traction

Do all this and you will have about 185-195 rwhp , not bad considering the car is only rated at 190 HP at the flywheel

If I were you I would start with the basics.
Cold air intake. Cheap on ebay and work just as well as other. ( I had a bbk and an ebay one and didn't notice a difference in finish, fit or performance.)
Than go with the exhaust like you said.
Its cheap and effective.
Good luck and have fun with your new car.

Honestly, here is my 3 cents on the matter. First ask yourself, what am I wanting achieve from this car? Speed....looks......how much money do I want to spend. I've had a modified V6 for quite a few years, and of course I have a V8 now. Now I'm not one of those guys that are going to bash you and tell you "Get a V8" because I find that a ridiculous remark that doesn't help squat, but this is what I'd do.

If you are thinking I don't care to have a ton of power nor do I want to spend much cash my thoughts.
-Find some 17 or 18" wheels to your liking (you can find good set off GT's and Cobras for cheap)
-Lowering springs with maybe caster/camber plates (FRPP makes a line for cheap)
-Bolt on Dual exhaust kit (directly bolts to the ypipe, MAC and Flowmaster make one along with some others)
At this point you have a good looking stang with alittle rumble for not too much cash. Don't bother with a GT Bumper unless you find a really good deal on one.Really all you need to have for a V6 Stang IMO.

You want more than just that than do this.
-T-lok in the rearend, with 3.73's and uprgraded axles
-Short throw shifter, shift kit/tranny cooler and high stall converter if auto
-Underdrive pullies, TB and Intake spacer, K&N air filter and a hand held tuner

More than that (one of these most likely)
-Camshaft
-Blower (supercharger/Turbo)
-Nitrous

98v6 KITT has some good advice..listen..except for the bolt on exhaust...f**k the y-pipe and get your exhaust guy to make an h-pipe for you--welded behind the cats..in fact have him do everything custom and use flowmaster mufflers or whatever you like. Lowering springs yes, and if you can afford lower gears (4.10's if you have auto) do it. You'll jump off the line and at least beat a Honda Oddity or somethn like that. Oh and don't forget a nice cushy steering wheel cover!!
