also. stock for stock. a 5.0 5 speed ve a new 05 5 speed. both bone stock. what one would win in the 1/4?

I got the 05 5 times I think, but we were on a 1/8th. I think in the 1/4 he mighta got me @ the end I seemed to pull him in 2nd gear 3rd we were about dead even. But the finish line was just after going into 3rd. He also was a convert with a 5-spd. Much heavier I assume.

I don't recall him saying that he should have beaten them. What I got form it, was that he was starting to get the hang of things and wanted to see if he was able to do better than the skunking he he got at the start.

Daggar, Daggar, Daggar, read it again. I don't want to argure with you BUT, he says, "lost to WRX and '06 lx, both of which I should have taken easily", or something to that effect. I'm just curious if he knows that they will run down a good deal of stangs that are lightly modded like his is. You don't agree?

Is the 06 Stang rated that high. Noone has said anything about the Stang. Like I asked earlier the LX, does it have a 6 cyl? I can understand losing to the WRX, but the LX. I find that a surprise just because of my expierence with racing a 2005 GT.

No you're right, a 6 Cyl Lx is a 6 cyl Lx. My original point was that the guy said he should have smoked the WRX when he doesn't have much for mods. And if you aren't a great driver, you better have one heck of a car to beat any of those AWD cars. Ya get me?

Not what I thought it would be. I was hoping he left the word “Club” out of the title.

Never went up against a WRX but have heard they are tough. Seen plenty of vids of them though and they prove their quick.

They're not all that fast stock, neither are the evos, but throw some cams in them, Exhaust mods, turbo timer, boost controller, and tune the heck out of it and then they scream pretty good. Not to mention they can throw a bigger turbo on without too much work, then they're really fast. One of the guys at my work just broke 11.8 with his Evo.

I won't mess with them if they're modded from a dig on the street because from light to light there is no time to catch up.

At DD don't waste you time with DRs, no prep on the
track=no traction. Full slick or nothing. So Are you going out tomorrow?

Yeah right now the plan is to head out there tomorrow night. I'm not 100 percent on that since I'm following a bunch of other guys, but currently it's the plan. How busy is it normally on Friday? I've heard that on Fridays the runs are timed, do you get a slip recording your times as well? As for the Wrx and 06 stang. I've raced a Wrx before and have beaten it and even though I had a horrible launch I was reeling in the wrx that beat me. Therefore they don't seem very quick to me. Now the STI is a whole other story. As for the 06 stang my friend beat several of the new 05 gt's with less mods than mine so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to beat a little lx. That is of course if I don't suck like I did at driving

BTW...whats the difference between a pro tree and just a x-mas tree you see at most tracks?

QUOTE]

The pro tree lights all ambers and then green right away after staging and the sportsman tree goes through 3 ambers before turning green after staging. The Xmas tree is the same for both just different settings.

Oh, and whats the best way to launch a car like mine with the mods I have? I have nitto 555's (not the r's) and the stock pos 2.73's. And like mentioned earlier the track isn't exactly prepped. Thanks!

Hahaha, nah I'm pretty sure the STI would hand me my A**
Hmmmm I don't know at this elevation maybe around 14.9-15.3 I raced my friends Neon (had $6,000 worth or motor work and a turbo) and lost by a fender at 100 mph. He ran a 14.9 in Albuquerque so thats what I'll bet my bench racing numbers off of.

I really can't tell you how to launch your car, shoot I'm still learning how to launch mine. It's an auto right, push the brake and give it a bunch of gas then floor it and let off the gas I would imagine. If it's a 5spd, throw your RPMS up to 4k or so and slip the heck out of it, you'll probably get a better 60ft time than bogging it down.

Man I can't wait to get to the track this november! Track day, and before then I plan on having MT ET radials so I cna get a decent launch, instead of the 2.3 60' I layed down last time, ran a 14.8. I am thinking if I can get my 60' down to 1.9 I'll be low low 14s if not high 13's. It was also around 95* when I ran the 14.8 and my timing was 10* with 87 octane, now 14* at 91 octane
