My Freak T-5 started talking to me on the way home from the track.

Went to the track today.. And on the way home i noticed that my tranny sounded more like a noisy gear drive.

1st 2nd 3rd 5th and reverse are all whining now. Still shifts the same and everything. Seems like it did this last time after the track and the next mornign after it had cooled off it wasn't as bad. (my shifter actually gets warm, not uncommon though).

Do i have a bearing going bad or is the shaft scarred on it or what? I think its finally time to upgrade. But I would still like to get a few bucks out of this one. (and i will tell the truth about it when i sell it.. lol)

Anyways I had a best of a 2.1X 60' today. Went and raced on my nitto's in complete street trim again.

My first run was 12.58 @ 125 mph with a 2.299 60'...

Best run of the day was a 12.045@ 121 mph.. I averaged for the day about a 12.25 @ 122. I don't understand why my mph is always all over the place. It will go from 119-125 depending on the run. And at the end i swear im on my rev limiter every time so I don't know what to think... I guess its belt slipage

It was a good time though... I let my mph do my talking... People know the car has potential just needs a better driver or traction or both.. lol

jesus you have 500 rwp!! man get some low 11 time slips please. and yes i would say that the t-5 may not like that at all, its probably just got really really hot, but it eventually will probably break.

like i said this was on my nitto's... I doubt i will ever get much better then high 11's on them...

I already have one 10 sec time slip on slicks though..

If all the gears are noisy, my first thought would be that the shafts are starting to seperate (the typical T5 death).

well all the gears except forth.. thats why i thought maybe it was a bearing because in fourth doesn't the bearing just like ride along so it would be quiet?

You got me good too... He told me he went to fun ford weekend and finally got a good run and went 10.58 @ 131... And I completely believed him.
Was totally jealous cause i know i pushed my car for almost everything it had and bearly made it... To be beat by a half second would really hurt from virtually the same setup.

my T-5 has 128,000 miles on it, and when i hit 2100 rpms to 2400 rpms it makes some noises. Only between those RPMS does it do it though, and it does it in first and second, i'm not sure about third forth or fifth.
