I can take my roommate's 2000 GT no problem. I say race her reguardless, it's all in good fun. If he's that worried maybe he shouldn't be racing in the first place.

If his girlfriend's friend has a mustang he should get rid of her and hook up with the girl with the stang. Then this thread would say, "should my friend use his mustang or his girlfriend's mustang to race tonight?"

well your boy does have a shift kit, just make sure he stays in his optimum RPMs when they race. I shink that it would be a lot more fair if they had 2 races, one from a roll and one from a stop. If the girl cant race from a stop than the girl doesnt belong racing.

I ran a 13.9 @ 100mph in my 2002 GT AUTO, all I had was an H and welded FLOWS.

Dont be surprised if she spanks the ever living **** out of him.

Wow you must have one hard core factory freak. Here at our almost sea level track my dads stock 2002 Auto GT Coupe, went a best of 14.8 @94, and there was another one a 2003 GT Auto coupe, that went 14.75 @95. Maybe u had a big gust of wind behind your GT.

Wouldnt a torque converter make a big difference to the auto. Maybe he should go get one before the race and not tell anyone.

Now back to the subject,My friend is gonna race her and he convinced her to race from a stop but she wants to race from a 20 mph roll too.So there might be 2 races.Will my buddy have a better advantage from a stop or from a roll?

Your buddy will have an advantage from a dead stop.

5.0s have better low-end torque. If your buddy has better tires, and hooks better on launch, I'd give him my vote for the dead stop race.

As for the ET discrepancy, the new GTs are choking on too many accessories, too much weight and too little breathing room... the new 4.6s are rated at 260 fwhp, and yet they only put down 220-225 rwhp peak. There's a lot of improvement potential in there for a good exhaust system. "STOCK" does not mean a complete o/r H-pipe system.

Actually my race weight was 3550 with me in the car. I ran it with near empty gas, but retained the spare and jack, stock GOODYEARS.

It was actually a HOT day(one of those days you pray for a cloud in the sky or a gust of wind). And I ran at SEA LEVEL(E-Town raceway park, NJ)

I have witness's that were there... that car chirped 1-2 and SOMETIMES 3rd.

First time ever I ran a 14.2 @98mph.

The cars you have been racing or seeing are slow as ****... or the drivers just(with all due respect), SUCK.

Hmmm...make sure they take the TRACTION CONTROL OFF next time.

Well guys the race is done.I just got home about 20 minutes ago. We drove over to his girlfriends house and her friend with the mustang gt happend to be there.When we got there the girl kept asking when are they gonna race and if he was scared to lose to a girl.Right then and there my friend was like lets go right now.So we all drove to the spot and they decided to race from a stop first.They both lined up up and went on the 3rd honk.My friend got a pretty good launch with a little screeching of the tires.The girl spun a whole lot then got traction.My friend spanked her pretty bad on the take off,she was slowly creeping up at the end but my friend got to the end first and beat her by about 1- 2 car lengths.Man was he happy!The stupid girl obviously didn't know how to launch or anything.She just stomped on the gas pedal.Well after that they decided to go from a roll at 15 mph.I went along with my friend in his car and his girlfriend went with her friend.My friend was hopeing to get the jump first by him honking the horn so on the 3rd honk they both took off my friend did get the jump and maintained a 1/2 car lead on her for a little bit and then the girls gt started pulling and they were dead even.Then the girl had a 1/2 car lead and it stayed like that for a few seconds.She ended up winning by about 1.5-2 cars lengths.He's not upset that he lost from the roll because he knows he is gonna continue modding his car (getting Heads,Cam, intake soon) and in a few months he'll be back for
a rematch

racing from a roll is for ricers... tell her she should trade in her v8 for a vtech if she wants to pull that. Ive never read a car mag where it listed off a car's specs and one of them was "1/4 mile from a 20mph roll"

Wouldn't turning a race with a girl down be more embarasing than getting beat? I raced 2 girls in a porsche with a rented Toyota Tercel ones...

But on the bright side they were both really hot
