Except for the II....and the early/mid 70's T-birds and Lincolns. Not that they are "muscle", but I'd still rather own them than 95% of the 60's musclecars. But that's just my own preferences

Um, except maybe 21st century muscle? My new '08 will not only run circles around any stock 60's muscle car, but will do it with the 1000 watt stereo and a/c cranked...

There are many paths to Automotive Nirvana! Personally I prefer 70's compacts that look like 60's Muscle cars, powered by 90's Mustang engines

Yep, first time I saw a 79 I wondered what the hell I was looking at, a freaking Dodge?

You folks who want to say there are no ugly Mustangs ..... There were some mighty ugly mustangs. Horribly ugly.

Look at it this way: Most of you weren't alive when the Fox bodies were introduced, let alone an active member of the (new) car buying public. The Fox is like the ugly kids you have known since pre-school, you grew up with them so you don't really see the ugly. The ugly is normal to you.

I'm the person who took one look at the kid and said ... DAMN! That's an UGLY baby!! (think Seinfeld).

I walked into the dealer, asked to see the new Mustang, I was standing next to it. One of the things I did was make sure I was not at a Dodge dealer.

Ugly Mustangs? Yes.

I suppose I am in this catagory. I was 12 yrs old when the new 79 mustangs came out. I liked the car. Aerodynamic looking nose , and the rest boxy ,like the early 80's cars.
I liked them enough to buy one and Pro street it, after I sold my 74.

One thing I can say is I like ( or have learned to ) the look of a fox notch, especially the LX. Any year.

I cannot stand the look of a 64-73 notchback. (coupe) These are the ugly ones. Has to be a fastback.

I'm in there too, born in 71 but still never liked the looks of the boxy foxes, always liked the T/a's \ Camaros more than them . Parents almost bought me a 68 mustang for my first car (but didn't as Dad chickened out due to the v8) so I ended up buying a cheap affordable toyota myself to get me through school, and later finally bought my first Stang- the 78, and now have an 01 to go with it, really want a new edge next!
