My G-Tech Pro says 12.97...is it right?

gtech is a great toy but it's really easy to use wrong.
1) wheel spin will screw up readings
2) wrong calibration will screw up readings
3) unlevel ground will screw up readings
I think the manual says to run 8 runs, 4 in each direction on the same stretch of road. Drop the highest and lowest, then average the rest.
THEN, that's a good reading.

I absolutely love my Comp model though, the RPM/Speed logging is soooooo cool, I can see where I shifted and what worked well. I don't have a stretch of road I can keep stopping on for runs so I don't really know how accurate it is. I used it at the track once but I always have a lot of wheel spin so it's been off. A few runs were spot on but those were my slower runs where I didn't spin much.

This biggest problem with the G-tech's is the squat problem. Depending on a vehicles suspension and weight transfer it will affect your readings drastically. The g-tech is however a good comparison tool. For instance if you launch decently on two runs one with x mod and one with xyz mods you should be able to compare the results without going to the track to know you gained some ground with your mods.

As far as very accurate? Id say within .4 seconds 1/4 mile time. I wouldn't even worry about counting the mph though its off big time most of the time.

I'm not completely sure but i thought it was if your vehicle squats lower your g's are off as if you were not on a flat surface and therefore you'll get an inaccurate distance reading and reach the 1/4 mile faster/slower than you are in reality.

Bottom line is it's just a tool. I think it's cool as crap though since it logs RPM/speed/etc.
