My Horsepower Seems Low

My 2001 automatic is rated at 208 rwhp (260 bhp). Having spend $2000 in bolt-on modifications (see signature), I've added about 47 rwhp putting me at 255 rwhp (319 bhp). If I had a 5-speed, I would be at 265 rwhp. When I read other people's signatures, it seems like they are making a lot more power with fewer mods. (I am assuming that they are using dyno results rather than ricer math). With my mods, shouldn't I be around 280 rwhp? Any suggestions on how I can squeeze out a few more ponies without touching the heads or cams?

nope, you seem right where you should be. I wouldnt compare dyno numbers, not every car will react the same way to mods. Like mine was a strong runner. I dyno'ed at 257rwhp with headers, chip, home made CAI and a TB.

Seems really low. You should be putting around 240 hp to the wheels, even accounting for a 22% drivetrain loss because of your automatic tranny. I would check the tune.

LMAO re-read the post, he is putting down 249.

he has 249 in the sig?? lol which is it!!!

Before I added the Magnaflow catbacks, my car dynoed at 249 rwhp. I added at least 6 rwhp with the catbacks, bringing me to 255 rwhp. I have not been real happy with the Diablo Predator. Perhaps a dyno tune with a Superchip would give me the power I expect.

There's only one real good mod to do if you are staying N/A and that is Head/Cam swap. I wish I could bring myself to save up the money, but everytime I get a few hundred extra bucks, I spend it on something else.

Have you received on estimate on heads and cams? Unless you do the work yourself, you are probably looking at $3000. Might as well save a little bit longer and buy a supercharger. With the heads and cams, you will gain around 60 rwhp. With the supercharger, you will gain 120-160 rwhp.
