I was just pulling my codes and i have the Code Reader from Walmart, black base with yellow sticker and has 2 switches, its the blinky light and beeping kind. I plug it in to the 2 diagnostic hookups (2 switches on off)then I turn the key to Run and I hear my #1 injector turn on for about a full second. And after I got the codes when I turned the 2 switches off the injector turned on again  Its never done this before, Whats up with this? Also I did a cylinder balance test and I got 8 twice. Does this mean cylinder 8 is weak? I thought its only supposed to give single digit numbers for the balance test? After the KOER test I briefly gave it full throttle if it matters

that sound is normal - I have the same tool - it is causing the computer to run through its individual component controls to make sure each is capable of being operational. Read the book that came with the tool and you will learn all about what it is doing - the cylinder balance test has a 2 digit code that will show which (if any) cylinder is out of balance - you can goose it again and then again after each test to make the test go on different parameters to show just how bad out of balance a cylinder is -- in this case sounds like number 8 is not clean - use some good fuel injector cleaner such as BG44K (about $20 but REALLY WORTH IT - sometimes hard to find - may need to go to a Ford dealer or high end parts store) added to a tank of fuel and it should cure your problem. Good luck

I thought it was weird since its never done it before and ive pulled codes at least 100 times before. If its supposed to test the injectors why would it ony do one injector, i dont see why it would do it in KOEO but o well

The injector turned on again after you turned your ignition off??? I'm not sure if that's what your saying, but that defiently doesn't sound right if that's what you mean. There should be no power to the injector after you shut the car off. Would have to be a PCM or wiring problem if thats what you mean.--Is this what you meant???--Never heard of that-ever.

Not the key but the on off switch on the code reader, with ignition on, i turn on the scan tool and that makes the #1 injector turn on for like a full second and when i turn it back off the code reader it does it again. Also when i did a KOER test(while it was idling high) there was a lot of white smoke coming out of both exhaust pipes, looked like i had a head gasket blown. I dont no if it was just because of condensation or something but seemed like it only got like that during the KOER test
