My Intake Ignorance

I am looking for a gt-40 lower intake for my '95 GT. I already have in hand a Cobra upper. My ignorance concerning this is the difference I see between some intakes. Some have a hole in the top at dead center and some do not. What is this for and most importantly which is correct for my '95. Any help is greatly appreciated!

That is the egr port of fox bodies. Instead of on the elbow like ours, on the fox it was routed through the lower intake. Correct me if I'm wrong but thats what I remember reading.

This is my thinking as well. If this is truly the case, can I still use the Fox intake and somehow block off this port?

No need to block it off, no air will be routed through it.

You can use either. I'd still block off the Fox intake at the heads, just to keep the heat from rising....
