whew,im trying to replace the differential fluid,I thought the plug in the housing was a 3/8 square but it doesnt fit too good and I slipped and its a bloodbath,is that plug a star or something ?

Nope, should be a 3/8ths square as you mentioned. Unless it's been changed.

Its 3/8" square drive. Mine didn't fit very good and took quite a bit to bust it loose. It might also be filled with a bunch of road dirt from being under the car.

Wobble extensions dont often fit real well. I apply pressure on the head of the ratchet (pushing the wrench into the hole) as I turn, to keep the wrench from popping out.

Mechanics gloves will really help (it is late now, but they will help keep your hand clean and from being injured further).

Its great when you're wearing latex or nitrile gloves, bust your knuckle without knowing you split it too, and the glove fills up with blood.

Oh yeah, its a 3/8" unless someone put an Allen style in there.

yeah you were right on target hissin50 it was the wobble ext that caused the hideous injury,I removed the balancer or whatever you call it and I was able to get the 3/8 ratchet on and get it loosened,on another note,I wish I had drove the car a little before I sucked the gear oil out ,it was cold and took a longtime to suction it all out,but I was able to get that done as well as swap out an 02 sensor before the football games started,then after the eagles game I swapped out the spark plugs,im new to the fox body scene,coming over from the 2.3 turbo scene ,my last project was a turboranger,even though it was wicked quick I just hated the lag off the get go,you guys have ben really helpful,being back in the V8 world reminds me of my old school days of big block mopars. thanx much fellas.
