My locker's dead

My Detroit locker is kaput... Didn't like its rather abrupt and noisy on and off transitions anyway. So I just bought this brand new Ford Racing 8.8" 31 Spline Traction Lok Differential M-4204-F318C with Carbon-Fiber Plates from Blue Oval on Ebay and I'm wondering if it'll last awhile with the 500 Lbs of torque (flywheel) my engine is capable off. Did I make a good choice?

Order an extra set of replacement plates for it, when you install it put "a kit and a third" in it.

(one extra pair of plates)

More surface area = more power holding capacity.

Do you mean that this part "as is" will not last long? I hardly do drag races (3 or 4 times a year) but I'm planning on doing some lapping with the car though..

Ford Racing M-4700-C Ford Racing 8.8 Rebuild Kit

and pack as many of them in as you can. it wont be loud like the detroit either.
