If they replace your headers, ship 'em out to have someone CERAMIC coat or JetHot coat them.... you'll be much happier..

oh trust me, I won't make that same mistake twice. But that is also what upsets me. even if they replace the headers. I know they won't pay for the labor of getting the new ones put on so either way this is gonna cost me money, although if they DO replace my headers, I wonder if I can use the ones I have on there until they crap out.

well if mac contacts you back & if they are willing to help ask them if you could pay the difference for their "ceramac: coated ones. it will save you a lot of headache in the future. ceramic coated headers can rust too, anything can rust giving the right conditions, but they are a lot less likely too i think the difference should only be about a $100.

also, DO NOT put tranny oil on your longtubes. my tranny is leaking a little, from where i had a new tranny put in & they didn't seal it up all the way. & because of that it leaked on my rochamber & it's rusted pretty bad. so i'm gunna call mac & ford to see if they will do anything about it. since ford put it on & didn't do the tranny right & it had these consequences they might help, prolly not, but maybe let us know what happens man, cause i'm kinda going through the same thing, just a lot less of a hassle because it's only the prochamber & not the longtubes

If they send you new ones clean up the old ones and sell them I don't think performance is affected and that can get you alttle extra dough for the install.

im ready to do it anytime. I still have to call Tim @ T&J to see if he can make my SES light go away due to the long tubes having the 02's too far from the shortblock, that causes a ckt slow response.

98GTvortech, yeah I would, I would clean them up as best as I could, re-paint them and try to get a couple hundred dollars for them Obviously that pends on whether Mac sends me another set<fingers crossed>
