This is no way a guide, but my personal experience

1. walk into garage
2. open box of Eibach springs
3. admire how shiny they are
4. open beer
5. jack front of car up, put jackstands uner subframe connectors for stability
6. remove rims, caliper and brake discs
7. place floor jack under A-arm, raise the jack to where the A-arm is supported
8. remember that you opened a beer and run to drink it before it gets warm
9. realize youre in louisnana, and your beer is already warm and has possibly evaporated
10. open another beer
11. carefully take the 2 strut bolts loose
12. lower floor jack to let spring expand.
13. once A-arm is fully extended, find long object (jack handle) to dislodge stock spring
14. stand off to the side and jiggle ("jiggle" is a technical term) the jack handle in the bottom of the spring untill you hear it go BOING!!!!
15. drink beer and smile since 1 stock spring is out.
16. grab new spring (make sure you accidentally try to install the rear spring in the front.... upside down no less, to make sure this works for you)
17. spend 40 minutes trying to figure out why the top of the spring wont go over the cup at the top.
18. call strype and ask him what youre doing wrong
19. realize your beer got warm... again.
20. stop and take a flashlight and compare the stock front spring to the Eibach replacement.
21. realize youre trying to put the wrong spring on the wrong end of the car
21. seriosly consider taking gasoline and a match to the car
22. say the hell with it, and decide youre going to finish if it kills you
23. take old rubber thing off old spring, and see how nice it fits when you have the correct spring going into the correct location.
24. slide top of spring in
25. step on A-arm, and get jack handle under bottom of spring.
26. in 1 (or 14) swift motion(s) step down hard on the A-arm, and pry up and in on the bottom of the spring
27. hear the bottom pop into place, and run away thinking its going to shoot out at you
28. get jack back under A-arm, jack up and reattach the 2 strut mounting bolts.
29. send Strype a picture message showing the spring installed.
30. repeat for the other side, except this spring isnt as easy, and you end up doing the step down and pry method about 11 times (literally) before you get the damn bottom of the spring in the A-arm
31. jack up that A-arm, install the strut bolts, and open another beer.
32. lay on the concrete garage floor with your beer, a cigarette and a smile since you finally got it done.

Now all i have to do is pick up my brake pads today and the whole front end will be assembled.

Side note: More beer is usually required when working on car, but doing something like this that could potentially make you go to the hospital, and a buzz is the last thing you are worried about.

If memory serves me right, i think we used a bar to pop the spring onto the A arm. I do remember it being a PITA though. I'm going to be doing my rear springs again to cut a coil out and lower it down a bit.

yeah installing front springs can be a BlTCH. it's a lot easier when there's 2 people on it though. one to press on the a arm, the other to push the spring in. get some pics!

I took some pics last night, but i forgot to stick the camera on the dock and download them.. ill try to remember to do that tonight.

And trust me, try doing it using a 2 1/2 foot long jack handle... that makes a hard job even worse.

To do the Eibach Pro-kit in my GT I had to use a spring compressor since I did not unbolt the a-arms.

My buddy with a spring compresor was supposed to come over last night, but he ended up having to work a 12 hour shift, so i decided to do it myself.

I never minded doing the stockers, FMS, BBK etc b/c you don't need a spring compressor. The Eibach Pro-kit is considerably taller than stock but does drop the car ~ 1"

Hat's off to ya buddy!! I had a shop do mine and they said they needed a special spring compressor to install them. Most people cut them a bit to get them to fit.
Nice job Yo!!

When i do them, i don't uninstall anything other than the tire and tie rod.
I remove the inside control arm bolts, put the spring in and jack the arm back up into place.

Man I only hate doing it cause how much of a risk it is!! either a spring flying out at ya or the car falling!!

Aftermarket springs are so easy....it's the stock ones that I love yelling at....

Glad there is a few that agree with me! I think I have done it around 8 or 9 times and it goes so quickly now. One of the easier things I have done to my cars at this point... What I DONT LIKE is that I have done three heater cores!!!
