That sucks man, I know my '99 really was babied until I got it..lol...anything that has gone wrong was my fault save for the intake manifold but my Mustang hasnt seen anything major go wrong just minor things that usually are the small issues these cars have.
-Intake manifold
-Clutch/TOB
-AC idler pulley
-Power steering pump
-Rear end bearings (awesome Ford Techs...not)
-convertible top (which still needs to be adjusted...)
-1 COP went

Mine has seen the garage several times, but it was all not related to the engine itself failing like yours did. My car is driven hard, but it is my DD as well so my car has withstood several long trips very well and although I wish it was a hardtop for the leaking water sake I have right now, it gets 17mpg in pure city driving and I wouldnt get rid of mine unless another Mustang or LS1 powered car came along...

My car has been offered well over KBB because of the care I usually take in it simply because most of the mods have been done that everyone wants. Plus they know how anal I am to do things the right way

deftsound

Please ask me how much my supercharger cost

not to be a dick, but I found that a lot of people with "lemons" either drove the **** out of their cars and didn't take care of them or bought their mustangs from owners who ragged on them

A remanufactured engine is usually bad news.

Yep, can be. The idea of a remanufacture is not bad in itself, its just that some of those places work on volume. They don't take the time to go through the multi-step torquing sequence of the fasteners, etc. and this can happen.

Yeah I won't blame the rebuilt engine. I think the previous guy was the problem. I know now that it already had that broken piston when I got it. Surprised more wasn't damaged with the tune he had on that chip. Could have already had some damage to the bearings and I finished it off.

This looks and sounds like a flood damaged car.

I'd doubt that. I had the carpet out of it for cleaning and everything. No sign of water anywhere except that connector.

Still hadn't put the Mustang up for sale, but picked this up today

I LOVE it!

No comparison to the Mustang in any way. Even better gas mileage. The best part is I finally don't have to drive around with 100 different rattles going on.

Recommend one to anybody.

Just need to put the Mustang up for sale now.

Hopefully my luck will be better with this thing.

Sorry for your loss. One of our finest Stangnet members (Bierbelly) who was heavy set, balding and not well endowed felt the need to sell his Mustang and purchase a silver Corvette also. Good luck with it and stay far away from the junior high schools because you will eventually get caught!

I think that's more of a case with Mustang owners anyway.

I was just tired of working on mine more than driving it.

Mustangs have their good parts too though... Don't have to live in wheelhop city.

Want some evidence? Count the next 10 Corvettes and the next 10 Mustang GTs or Cobras you see when a male is driving. Then see if you can tell if the car has a female passenger.

I'm willing to bet you will find far more Mustangs sporting a babe in the passenger seat than the Vette. Why? I dunno but it's a fact of life.

However, I'm just bustin' your shoes about the nice Corvette you purchased. I prefer the Mustangs though even though I could get a Vette if I really wanted to. Why not a Vette for mrvax?
1. It's a bit of a PITA for me to get in/out of a lower car.
2. The Vette is a very fast/great handling car right out of the box so it needs no mods. I enjoy modding.
3. I'd have no mod $ for the Vette if I bought one.
4. Once in a great while, I need more than 2 seats.
5. Although the Mustang is no pickup truck, the Vette cannot hold even a full load of groceries.
6. I can't picture me driving a Vette.

My dream would be to have a good GT or Cobra and $ to mod the hell out of it. A nice big KB and a cracklin' cam would make me very, very happy.

Again, good luck w/ the Vette and don't go beating the hell out of it untl you you realize just how much power you are playing with.
