Got an '06 GT last week - I've owned a couple of cobra verts in the past and I couldn't resist the blowout 0% deals they were running on the '06s. Not my first choice of color, but the pickings were kind of slim on the '06 GT verts cuz they already had lots of '07s on the lot but I think the white looks pretty good.

Only "mod" so far is I replaced the GT fender badges with the pony package running horse to give it a bit of a "sleeper" look - maybe I'll catch a 'vette napping Thanks to whoever it was in another thread for the info on how to do it. Also thinking of putting some wider tires on the back when I wear them out (shouldn't take too long). Thinking I could put 255/45-18 tires on the stock 18x8" wheels without any problems from what I've been reading here. The stock 235s look way too skinny on this car.

Edit: This shoudl probably be in the Talk section, my bad.

I generally don't like white cars but this one looks good.

Thanks Stan, yeah white wasn't my first choice but to get the 0% I had to go with an '06 and there wasn't much left to choose from - would have liked one of the two blues better. The white sort of looks like a secretary's car

Thanks bigcat. I see you have a 1-2-3 Cougar as your avatar. Do you have a Cougar or hang out at mercurycougar.net? I'm a big fan of early Cougars, here's a pic of my '70. Not practical to use it as a daily driver though, that's what the GT will be used for.

Thanks, it's just got the base engine for that year, the "H" code 351Cleveland -2V (that's 2 barrel carb for the youngsters ) Came with 9.5:1 compression and rated by the factory at 250 hp @ 4,600 and 355 lb-ft @ 2,600. The optional "M" code version of the 351C had a 4 barrel with 11.0:1 compression that year with 300 hp. Since the base engine only came with a single exhaust I added dual exhaust with flowmasters and it sounds wicked. Also added a genuine FoMoCo hood scoop so it looks like a clone of the 428 Cobra Jet w/ ram air which was also an available option that year.

nice vert! 70 is my favorite year, and hopefully someday i will own an eliminator! i do have 2 71 xr7 hardtops. one 351C 2v, one 351C 4v. both with under 70,000 miles.

i am a member on MC.net, but i am not really active there.

here is a pic of one-the 4v car.

Very nice, my first car was a '72 Cougar so I've always liked the 1-2-3s. I'd like an Eliminator too but the ones in good shape are pretty pricey now.
