I just ordered it off Ebay and now I don't know how to get it in the car. I bought the car without it about 1 1/2 years ago. Now with the a/c installed I want to make sure I don't overheat the car. Check out these pics. This thing is HUGE. Is it the right size? The car has a Ford Racing Alum. Radiator so is this why I can't get it to fit? Any ideas or help?

yeah that's the factory size, it fits on the side of the factory fan shroud, those 2 fins at the bottom fit in the shroud and then it just bolts right up.

Your power steering line looks like it is out of place, plus you have a 3-core radiator....which is why you look like you are running into clearance issues.

Out of place? Where should it be?

The radiator is only 2 core but they are pretty big. I think thats just how Ford Racing does it.

I know I'm not the only one running this radiator...I wonder what others have done about this.

you have to remove the fan shroud, possably the fan itself. bolt the overflow tank to the driverside, near battery, put fan and fanshroud back on. it should fit just fine.

Now this is why I get on this site! I didn't even think about taking the fan shroud off to bolt it in.

How do I bolt the tank in? It might be self explanatory but I'm going to ask before I get into it.

the 2 little tabs on the bottom of the tank should fit in 2 little holes (slots) near bottom of radiator. I dont know if you got any hardware or have to use exhisting screws, bolts just to bolt it in. After its bolted in, the black tube (hose) go's to the neck of the radiator cap. You should also have a little plastic cap that covers the top of the overflow tank.

BETTER IDEA!!!

Have you ever thought of just removing the battery for clearance until you have it installed?

The battery is not so much the problem. The battery tray is the problem.

I'll have it installed today.


For some reason I didn't get a cap for the tank. I'll have to look into why.

Well just take out the battery, and remove the tray, its just 3 easy bolts. I think about a 8 or 9mm?

You may have gotten a tank that accepts the low coolant sensor. The sensor runs between $45 and $70 depending on the year of your car.

The low coolant sensor goes in the cap, and his 88 GT should have that light.

He would need to get a cap with the sensor and then locate the wiring harness in the driver's side headlight harness and plug it in. Then the low coolant light in his dash would function
