My dad used to have a 26 A. I helped him on it a little. A tip that will help out in the future:

The canister looking thing mounted to the firewall is a water/gas separator. Go buy one used in marine applications! The stock replacements just dont do the job. Water an junk caused my dads to run terrible. Once we put the heavy duty marine one in problems were gone.

Like everyone said before the spark and fuel adjustments are pretty cool but in actuallity they are used for starting and warming up the car rather than performance. As you can imagine fuel is 100% during a cold start and timing is on the low side.

Keep that flat 4 in there. I get sick of seeing these chopped to pieces to hot rod!

Have fun,

Matt

Thanks for the advice. I hadn't heard about that. Yea, I plan to keep her all original. I get so sick of seeing Model A's with 4.3 Chevy engines and chit.

A suggestion, have you gotten pictures of your grandfather in the car? Then some of you and him in it? That would be a keepsake also.

My grandpa bought it in 1985 and had it restored with all original parts. It's been garage kept since he bought it and it was last driven at our 1998 family reunion. It's never been entered into a show, but I plan to change that and win a few trophies.

Not yet, but I plan for my grandpa to go with me the first time I show it, so I will most likely get pictures then.
