Son of a bitch.

So I had no problems with the car, started up every time, runs, idles nice, re-starts without issue. I installed the gauge pod with a tach, boost gauge and wideband, all autometer ultra lites. Took the power from the wiper motor (fused, of course) and hooked up the green tach wire to the ground on the coil. Tapped a vacuum line just off the tree for the boost gauge. Did not run any data logger, so it was just power to the WB, and of course the sensor and it's hook up.

After it was all done, I tried to fire it up, it started but ran like crap, I had to pedal it alot just to keep it going, then it wouldn't start at all, just turns over. So I pulled the fuse out of the gauges, and removed the tach ground. Still nothing. Everything in the ignition is new, coil, cap & rotor, dizzy, plugs, everything.

Plugs are wet, getting lots of fuel to the rails, but now no spark??? Nothing else was changed, just added the gauges.

Any suggestions?

edit - I have 12v at the red wire on the coil to a ground when key is in run position, but not between the red/green wire, is that the ignition relay?

Nevermind, next question, where is the fuse link off the red/lt green wire from the coil?

won't start

I had the same problem when I installed an aftermarket tach but I had to unhook the green wire from the coil to get it to start. try unhooking the tach wire from your coil and see if it will start then. I still have an unworking tach so any help would be appreciated.

I did unhook that wire, just to see what would happen, but it didn't change anything...

I am not sure than, I was actually grounding the ignition coil to where it would turn over but would not crank. I unhooked it and it fired right up..... Sorry I can't help more. Good luck.

I think it is the fuse link I am looking for is under the drivers side hood hinge, just sticking out of a harness, anyone? If so, do I just ask for a 20ga fusible link at a parts store?

florida> thanks anyways bro, hopefully you get yours figured out too!
