Mark and I use the Mothers California Gold bar with great results. I know there will be other opinions here very soon!

i dont understand exactly what a clay bar is...i have an overspray all over the headlights windshield hood and front fenders on my trailblazer...would a clay bar take this off?

are they hard to use?

if you misuse them does it mess up your paint?

Clay bar is safe an easy. Go for it. The paint on my 00 ZX2 is terrible. The black quickly showed dull areas. The clay bar couldnt clear them up. Dealers were *******s and the paint has peeled in a few places. Try the clay bar. Then go to the dealer and demand it looks perfect. Ford paint jobs just arent the best I'm afraid.

I am not sure it will remove paint overspray though. It is mainly for sap and other impurities stuck to the paint. Not even for bugs.

Don't use auto car washes.

They use strong chemicals which will damage clearcoat.

i never use car washes because i feel like i have to re wax my car every time i do so its not even worth it but this "sandpaper-like" substance was on my trailblazer when i got it (with 72,000 miles i might add)

I got my 05 GT in Feb and in april the paint started to bubble on the rear fenders and the front quater panel(very small). so i took it to the dealership and they took it for 5 days and repainted it and its just like new. All covered by warranty
