I've never reused the dust boot..acutally, when I bought my car it had aftermarket struts on it and the dust boot wasn't on there. If you still have yours, its probably best to put it on the new struts so they will last as long as possible. I haven't had any problems though.

So wait a minute... you bought new struts but you're required to use the old rubber bushings??? That's crap. Call those hosers up and tell em to send you the rest of your stuff.

Jack you can re-use your stuff but I would get a set of Poly bushings for the top, drop the dust boot.

Where does one find a set of poly bushings for the top? I've been looking. Nobody seems to carry thiese things. I need a set for a set of KYBs that I got used from Tim. Parts stores don't list shock bushings as being available by themselves. I gave up thinking that they only came with the shocks.

I'll be using my stock hardware until after bradenton. after that I'll start looking around for some camber caster plates, and good poly bushings. Thanks Rick for those pics and everything.

I think they are 15 or 16mm can't remember off the top of my head, many of them use different threads...

If you ever want to modify the rebound or extention on them I know a place We have done that for some class cars along with a rebuild on our own, dad's 93 Cobra had one leak after about 6 months. The guy is a authorized rebuild center and is top notch.

I emptied my PM box or Rick91GT@suscom.net

Good Luck in FL, I had plan to fly in to see the race but I am too busy at the shop and a little behind, motors are piling up now that parts are coming in.

the whole dam problem with the QA 1's was that I was trying to use the stock dust boot tops under my fenders with the QA1 struts......and the dam top of the strut was restricted and wouldnt let the rod come thru the inner fender enough to attach the upper hardware. Its on and done now thanks for the help guys!
